Big Girl Bed

Okay, so this is kind of old news but the pics are pretty cute so here comes the blog entry anyway!

Mimi has, at the grand old age of 3, finally moved from her crib into a big girl bed! Honestly, I think she would have been content to sleep in her crib until she went off to college and I must admit we were just fine with that. It's not just the crib, either. Just have a look in our basement at the boxes and boxes of size 9 month clothes and you will reach the same conclusion (you will also ascertain that I spent way too much time at Hanna Anderson but that is another story altogher). At any rate, we recently and reluctantly accepted the fact that we would have to let go of our desperate desire to ignore the signs that our baby is growing up and get Mimi a sleeping space that actually allowed her to straighten her legs.

Mimi had been "practicing" sleeping in a big girl bed by napping in Julia's for a few weeks so we knew she was ready. She doesn't even require a railing to keep her in. Once she got the pink comforter she requested, she was good to go.

As our girls share a room, we bought a bed that matches Julia's and will eventually bunk. Eventually being when Mimi develops the self-restraint necessary to keep her from doing a double back-summi off the top. Don't anybody go holding your breath. Our wee one is fearless!

Anyway, here she is marking another milestone in her journey to grow up and break our hearts!
