A very funny little joke was played on our family when God decided to unite 2 people with June birthdays, turn them into teachers (do you remember the end of the school year????!!!), arrange their adoptions in May and July, let the world schedule mother's day and father's day within the same time period, and give them a child with a birthday smack dab in the middle of it all. Can you imagine how sick of cake we are? When are we supposed to sleep?
We try to down play certain events and keep others just for our family to contain the madness. This year, however, Daddy had a significant birthday and Mimi turned 3 within 4 days of each other. Daddy's birthday bash was a three day extravaganza as was befitting our joy in celebrating his general wonderfulness. Mimi's is still a work in progress. On her actual birthday, June 5th, she had cupcakes in with her pre-school buddies, received a pink big girl bike and matching crocs (thanks Grandma & Grandpa K) adorned with some cutie patootie jibbitz (thanks Auntie Deb & Uncle Rich) and had more cupcakes at home.
We're having a little party for a few tiny buddies this weekend but our friends are getting mighty tired of coming to our house on a nearly weekly basis to celebrate something or another. We all start to loose track. Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how to stick three candles into a stalk of broccoli.
Heaven knows we need the nutrients.

Too much cake? I'm sure Mimi and Julia don't see it that way at all. Isabel wanted to wish Mimi a happy birthday by sending her brownies but I guess we'll hold off for a month or two. ;-)
Congratulations, Happy Birthdays (particularly the significant one:), and Happy End of the School Year to you all!
